An experimentalist and highly experienced composer, producer, collaborator and performer, Ed continues to push boundaries in the electronic and classical spheres, creating music that’s fresh, powerful and beautifully crafted.
Ed has recently scored powerful documentary Apache Blues: Welcome Home, Thaddeus O’Sullivan’s feature film The Miracle Club, the Mary Harron directed Dalíland, starring Ben Kingsley and Ezra Miller, for which Ed’s score was nominated for the HMMA Awards ‘Best Original Score – Independent Film’, Depp V Heard and Break Point for Netflix, Chapter Two (2022 Florence Film Award Winner for Best Original Score, 2022 Vancouver International Film Award Winner for Best Original Score) and ITV’s drama Finding Alice. Further credits include Anthony directed by Terry McDonough for LA Productions, ITV’s DI Ray, the Plimsoll Productions nature series Night on Earth for Netflix which received a Hollywood Music in Media Award nomination for ‘Best Original Documentary Score’ and YouTube Originals sci-fi thriller series Origin from Left Bank Pictures. Additionally, Ed has scored the psychological thriller series Cheat for ITV, US horror/thriller feature Temple, a four-part drama for BBC One From Darkness (2016 Ivor Novello Nominated, 2016 RTS Award Nominated Best Original Score, 2016 RTS Award Nominated Title Music), Bancroft and the psychological thriller Midwinter of the Spirit.
Previous landmark projects include the BBC’s wildly successful Life On Mars series 1 and 2, In The Flesh, Life in Squares, the dramatic retelling of the creation of the television series Dr Who in 1963 An Adventure In Space and Time,Afterlife, BBC’s Yellowstone, and the horror feature The Dark for Impact Pictures/Universal.
A true collaborator, Ed has acted as Musical Director for the likes of Madonna, Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs and Sir George Martin, and continues to work with young contemporary artists, creating experimental music for their installations. His recent collaborations with Sir Tim Rice have earned him an Ivor Novello and 2 RTS award nominations.
Ed was a chorister at both Hampton Court Palace and St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle. He won a scholarship to the Royal College of Music, where he was honored to be awarded the Countess of Munster Scholarship to further his studies in composition & violin in New York & Japan.
Edmund has performed with many of the world’s finest orchestras, such as the London Philharmonic Orchestra, LSO, BBC Symphony, Chicago Symphony, Philharmonia and the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields.
